چکیده
Abstract. Introduction: aspiration of total hip arthroplasty (THA) is commonly performed to assist in the diagnosis prosthetic joint infection (PJI). This study aimed determine whether fluoroscopic- or ultrasound- guided differs ability acquire synovial fluid and accuracy diagnosing infection. Methods: all THA aspirations between 2014 2021 at our institution were retrospectively identified. Aspirations classified as successful dry. If successful, volume obtained was recorded. The sensitivity specificity identifying PJI calculated with four methods: (1) culture results excluding saline lavage, (2) including (3) 2018 Musculoskeletal Infection Society (MSIS) International Consensus Meeting (ICM) criteria, (4) European Bone Joint (EBJIS) criteria. Analyses using Student's t test Wilcoxon rank sum for continuous variables chi-squared Fisher's exact categorical variables. Results: 290 included (155 fluoroscopic-guided 135 ultrasound-guided). Success (>0.5 mL) more common ultrasound cohort (69 %) than fluoroscopy (53 (p<0.0055). When (mean 13.1 mL vs. 10.0 mL; p=0.0002). Ultrasound-guided sensitive lavage (85 % 73 %; p=0.03), 69 p=0.001), MSIS-ICM criteria (77 52 p=0.02), EBJIS (87 65 p=0.02). specific (100 96 p=0.001). Conclusions: ultrasound-guided frequently yields THA. data,

I-46: Ultrasound Guided Aspiration of Ovarian Cyst
Ultrasonography is the primary imaging tool for a patient considered to have an ovarian cyst. On a sonogram, simple ovarian cysts have a uniformly thin, rounded wall and a unilocular appearance that is either hypoechoic or anechoic. They usually measure 2.5-15 cm in diameter, and posterior acoustic enhancement (a hyperechoic area) may be visible deep to the fluid-filled cyst. Most commonly, the...
متن کاملEndobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration in diagnosing mediastinal lymphadenopathy
CONTEXT The diagnosis of mediastinal lymphadenopathy is always a challenge. There always a need of a technique that is highly accurate as well as safe for diagnosis the same. AIMS The aim of the study is to assess the clinical usefulness and safety profile of endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration (EBUS-TBNA) in diagnosing the patients with mediastinal lymphadenopath...
متن کاملUltrasound-guided aspiration for transient synovitis of the hip.
We reviewed 15 children with transient synovitis of the hip who had aspiration of an effusion under local anaesthesia with ultrasound guidance. There were no significant complications; aspiration was useful for diagnosis and gave considerable symptomatic relief. We discuss the role of ultrasound in diagnosis and treatment.

متن کامل[Endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration].
In the last years, several techniques have been developed to obtain a prompt diagnosis or rule out lung cancer. Endobronchial ultrasound- guided transbronchial needle aspiration (EBUS-TBNA) is a minimally invasive procedure with a high diagnostic yield for mediastinal and central pulmonary lesions. This procedure is especially useful for lung cancer diagnosis and mediastinal staging. Two differ...
